I’m stuck ordering another chip because I need my computer back, but I do not wanna have a couple of extra worthless chips lying around. Select Yes to start the BIOS update process. If you have a low end board, or an older legacy bios, those bios tend to be very simple. I tried AFUDOS also and it gave me another error that the BIOS does not support afu. If you have a high end board that has an extensive bios, often times there is a switch thatll bypass that particular screen and either be blank or holdout the prior screen until windows is booting. I also tried AMIFLASH which doesn’t work with the BIOS version. I tried BUPDATER from DOS with both chips to no success. Then it said: shutdown in/after 2 seconds and it shut down. Everything seemed to be going okay it deleted the old files, wrote the new ones, verified the new ones. I didnt use winflash, I used easyflash in the bios. Replaced the AMI logo with a custom RoG logo I created. I wanted to update the bios, with an official bios update, from version 207 to 211. After entering the Advanced Mode, select Advanced screen. Replaced the 'ASUS' logo when booting in ExpressGate. I'm guessing it is checking my bricked chip for something that apparently isn't there, hence why it’s bricked. Here are the steps to update with EasyFlash: Start EasyFlash, by rebooting the computer and pressing F4 at the ASUS splashscreen. I got to the BIOS, pulled my EVO chip and put the original bricked chip back in and it verifies that the versions match but then it throws an error at me stating that there is not boot information included in the file. I tried reflashing with EZflash and because the one is EVO and I'm flashing the nonEVO BIOS it fails.
After updating the BIOS successfully shut down the PC, disconnect the A/C power cable (or switch off power supply) and make a Clear CMOS.

The EVO chip will let me boot with memOK while the original will not POST at all nor reach the BIOS screen. Just download the appropriate zipped BIOS file, unpack it, rename it to something simple like bios.bin (Award, Phoenix - Award) or bios.rom (AMI, Phoenix) and use the suitable flash tool listed below.
